I was hanging with fellow independent artist Paton Francis over the weekend and he loaned me this book. The Art of Animal Character Design by David Coleman. I was already familiar with Coleman’s work, but not aware of it. I had only seen it in compilation and “art of” books. This was my first time consuming a large portion of his beautiful drawings and paintings in one sitting. No matter your artistic avenue, from cartoonist and character designers, to animators painters and graphic artists, you will appreciate his work.
