Fall is right around the corner. Tomorrow actually! (I just had to look that up.) ‘Tis the season for some local book fairs, events and conventions. If you’re looking to find me around, I will be attending and speaking at both the Halifax Pop Explosion Zine Fair in October and at Hal-Con in November.

The Halifax Pop Explosion Zine Fair is usually a smaller show with a different crowd than most comic or pop-culture related events I normally attend. If you’re looking for something a bit different, I highly recommend you stop by. You’ll find comic artists and small press publishers but also print-makers, zine makers and authors. I will have a table with books, prints and original art. I will also be giving a talk between 2:30PM and 3:30PM about crowdfunding and online presence with Alison Knott. This year, the Zine Fair is super accessible in the beautiful Halifax Central Library.

The Zine Fair is on the 3rd floor of the library in 2 rooms at the back (south) of the building, 301 and the RBC Learning Commons. There should be signage on the 3rd floor to help you find the right spot.

This year at Hal-Con I will have a table in Artist Alley and I will be moderating two panels over the course of the weekend. Hal-Con is still finalizing the vendor layout and the panel schedule so I don’t have much to share. As soon as I know more I will update this post.
