On Wednesday, April 2 The Chronicle Herald published a four-page special education feature on farm habitats and biodiversity in Nova Scotia. The article coincides with Canadian National Wildlife Week (April 6-12) was produced by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture in partnership with the provincial and federal government, the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture’s Environmental Farm Plan, Dalhousie University’s School for Resources and Environmental Studies and the Herald Education program.
The script for the comic was written by Rick Hoeg and his team at the Department of Agriculture. I was commissioned to illustrate the three-page comic included in the feature. The two main characters in the story, Taylor and Drew were previously established in another education feature called Water Wise, by Faith Erin Hicks.
